01 · The principle

Pitch error becomes motion.

Lumituner compares your note with its target. When their timing slips, the pattern rotates. As the pitches agree, that movement settles.

02 · Read the direction

Flat rotates left.

Your note is below the target. Raise the pitch until the counterclockwise rotation slows away.

04 · Four resolutions

One error. More detail toward the edge.

All four bands show the same pitch difference. Large inner blocks make direction easy to read; dense outer blocks reveal increasingly fine movement.

They are not four separate tests you have to pass.

05 · Real strings breathe

Perfectly frozen is rare.

A plucked string starts sharp, settles, and keeps moving microscopically as it decays. Finger pressure, string stiffness, harmonics, and room noise add tiny variations.

The outer bands reveal that movement because they are more sensitive—not because your tuning failed.

06 · Know when to stop

Don't chase the shimmer.

If the pattern has no steady direction and only the fine outer bands drift or tremble around center, the note is already exceptionally well tuned.
